About Great Prawls Farm. We are midway between medieval Rye and Tenterden, the Jewel of the Weald.

We are third generation farmers on this pretty sheep farm on the old sea cliffs of the ‘Isle of Oxney’.

We LOVE every nook and cranny of it! The current owners Roger and Pat have made it a lifetime’s work to care for the farm sympathetically. This has involved planting thousands of hedgerow saplings by hand and maintaining ponds and the wildlife therein. Explore the area and see the wildlife with the self-guided walks.

Farm Trails to explore and lots of wildlife to discover.

RSPB volunteers have recorded endangered rare species on the farm.

Kent Wildlife has also found rare plants and insects too that are rare.

You are welcome to enjoy the extensive views and partake of the peace and tranquillity. The sheep of course are always with us ranging from the traditional ‘Romney Marsh’ breed famous for their wool to various crossbreeds for their luscious meat. There are lambs aplenty in the Spring and if you’re lucky you may see the grand shearing in Summer.

We are proud of our cottages and take a personal interest in their supervision. There are many little extras included which that we hope will make your holiday good value and that much more comfortable. Both are single storey cottages and thus suitable for anyone a little disabled. Information can be forwarded in larger text if required.

Out of high season short break holidays are also available and these can be very flexible.
